Playing with Baby Blocks 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

The Electric Quilt Company has produced a very tricky program which can change a block into a quilt layout, which then distorts any block you add to the layout into whatever shape the pieces in the original block are.

The second design has ell and truly changed the appearance of the original setting and the blocks placed in that setting.

I really should play with the more challenging areas of the program.

Playing with Baby Blocks 19, 20 from Virtual Quilter

Electric Quilt allows users to play with blocks of many shapes, including mixing squares and diamonds which can lead to playing with baby blocks. Because I have grown up I added floral arrangements to the blocks to replace the toys or letters of the alphabet on most baby blocks.

I love the first of these two designs but like the addition of pieced blocks on some sides of the blocks.

Playing with Baby Blocks 17, 18 from Virtual Quilter

Playtime! Instead of building stacks of blocks I have used Baby Blocks as a quilt layout, and added some applique designs.

It would be interesting with real wooden blocks with applique designs on all six sides … how many ways could the six designs be arranged in a stack of bricks?

Love it!

Intriguing!

To create these designs I used the inbuilt Baby Block Layouts and just added blocks … the second one using the same background fabric throughout. Electric Quilt distorts the block to fit the shapes in the layout.

Virtual Challenge Playing with Baby Blocks 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

Who would not like to play with baby blocks which were as pretty as these?

Interesting!

Love the second one.

I would simply add a binding using the background fabric of the outer blocks … would make a lovely cloth for a round table, or a throw on the lounge or bed.

Playing with Baby Blocks 9, 10 from Virtual Quilter

Who said Baby Blocks were just for kids? I think grownups can have fun with them too!

I don’t think a two year old would build the design above, though that could appear when they throw a tantrum … and pile the baby blocks onto the floor!

Playing with Baby Blocks 7, 8 from Virtual Quilter

Not the normal sort of design on these baby blocks, they are more for grown ups. Wouldn’t it be fun to have some blocks on a shelf for us to play with … we could spend a few minutes several times a day rearranging them.

I love this second one!

I love that Electric Quilt distorts the block designs to fit the shape of the hexagons.
